Human Rights Film Tour
the FIFDH opensthe debate around the world
To celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the International Film Festival and Forum on Human Rights in Geneva (FIFDH), the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA) and the United Nations Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) are joining forces to launch an international tour spread over 45 countries including Zimbabwe, China, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, Nigeria, Brazil, Cuba and Guatemala.
Between 10. December 2017 and 10. December 2018, Swiss embassies will organise events based on the FIFDH’s “one film, one topic, one debate” format: screenings followed by debates with local NGOs, journalists, students and activists. For the occasion, TED has produced an animated short film on the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
The Human Rights Film Tour has officially launch on 10. December 2017, on International Human Rights Day, in Islamabad, Pakistan. FIFDH director Isabelle Gattiker and filmmaker Juan José Lozano will be on site to present Crime Hunters, a documentary directed by Juan José Lozano and Nicolas Wadimoff. The film sheds light on the work of Geneva-based NGO TRIAL, as they hunt war criminals in Colombia, Rwanda and Guatemala.
