Martine Anstett Prize
Every April 29, the Martine Anstett Prize rewards a personality who has distinguished him- or herself in his or her commitment in favour of human rights. It is bestowed by the association created in the memory of the unrelenting commitment –notably alongside the Office of the High Commissioner for human rights– of the late French lawyer Martine Anstett, who passed away suddenly in 2015. This year, four personalities are in the running: Teddy Mazina, a Burundian photographer and journalist, Aida Seif al-Dawla, an Egyptian activist committed to working for victims of state violence, Nassera Dutour, spokesperson for the Collective of the Families of the Disappeared in Algeria, and Marie-France Des Pallières, founder of an association which retrieves and schools children from poor families in Cambodia. The name of the winner will be announced on March 10, as part of the Festival.
