The Festival shines throughout the Geneva region and French-speaking Switzerland!
The FIFDH takes place throughout Geneva’s communes, as well as in neighbouring France, including community centres, museums, sports halls, cafés, hospitals, village halls, reception centres, theatres, restaurants, and schools.
Each evening of the FIFDH is unique! Come and discover our films; you will also have the opportunity to ask our speakers and guests questions. We have closely collaborated with the communes’ social and cultural departments as well as with many local associations to offer an exceptional experience.
Among the themes addressed this year are freedom of expression (Anières, Bernex), the right to housing (Vernier), new information technologies and their impact on humanitarian crises (Meyrin), prostitution in French-speaking Switzerland (Onex), transgender rights (Saint-Genis-Pouilly) access to culture for people with visual or aural disabilities (Chêne-Bourg), war photographers (Meyrin), Syria (Gaillard), refugees (Presinge, Plan-les-Ouates, Meyrin, Anières), and environmental crimes (Lancy).
Thanks to the support of the municipalities involved, the Association of Geneva’s communes, the Integration Office and several private partners, all these events are free!
You will also be able to discover our films and debates in Lausanne, Orbe, the Vallée-de-Joux and, from March 24 to 28, at the Filmpodium in Bienne.
